Brilliant Women Would Rather Lick A Nettle Than Own How Brilliant They Are
I’ve been coaching for 6 years now. Hundreds of women from all over the world. Household names. Beginners. Industry leaders. Authors. Speakers. Teachers. Women out-earning their partners. Women who are breaking cycles. Women who are changing lives. Survivors.
And I see the same thing. Every. Single. Time. And it is costing them in money, time, headspace and opportunities.
Brilliant women would rather lick a nettle than own how brilliant they are.
Because of conditioning. Because of patriarchy. Because of the sh*tbags at school. Because it’s in our DNA to resist taking up space and saying — yeah, I’m pretty damn good at this.
So Instead, They Buy The Thing
The course. The qualification. The high ticket program. The proven strategy. Not because they need more information — they already know enough. But because subconsciously they think that when they HAVE that thing, they’ll finally feel ready. Finally feel confident. Finally feel like enough.
They get the thing. And their brain goes… hmmm actually no. That’s not enough. You need the next thing.
It’s a never ending horizon. You never actually get there.
Because this isn’t a strategy problem. It’s an identity problem. And identity problems are shapeshifters. Popping up like whack-a-mole. They keep coming back in different disguises — especially when you’re on the cusp of something big.
It’s why you go into your biggest launch yet feeling flat as a fart. It’s why you hold back on the price in your biggest ever proposal. It’s why you’re doing all the things and still feel like something’s missing.
And I want to be really clear — this is NOT just a beginner problem. I call it the Success Express. Think of it like a train you were born on — and at every new stop, at every new level of success, your inner critic tries to get you off. New revenue target. New visibility. New offer. New stage. Every single threshold brings a new version of this headf*ckery in a new disguise.
I don’t care if you’re at 3k months or 30k months. The train keeps moving and the inner critic keeps showing up. The only difference between women who stay on and women who get off? The ones who stay have done the identity work.
It’s also not a failing. We just were never taught this work. We were told to do it like a man instead — just follow the instruction pack and you’ll get the same result. Like our businesses and lives are an IKEA flat pack.
What that completely ignores is the person actually doing the work. All of the emotional baggage we carry in a big dusty trunk on our back — weighing us down. For valid reasons. For sometimes irrational reasons. Reasons that mean someone else’s proven strategy could actually be the worst thing we ever do.
And doing anything new was always going to bring up resistance. Because our brains are wired to treat anything unfamiliar as a threat to our survival. So we resist it in really sneaky ways. We procrastinate. We fiddle with our tech stack. We buy another course. We do everything other than the one thing that will actually make the biggest difference.
Here’s What Happens When Women Actually Do The Work
I’m not talking about gradual improvements. I’m talking about women saying to me ‘holy f*ck- is this my actual life now?’. Here are the three patterns I see every single time.
Things move fast. Not years. Weeks.
Fully booked in 5 weeks. A corporate job quit in January, booked out by summer. This isn’t hype — it’s what happens when hesitation and headf*ckery is removed. When you’re not negotiating with your self doubt every 2 minutes, decisions get made and things get done.
Income doesn’t grow. It multiplies.
£1 workshops to becoming the breadwinner. A low-ticket membership to a £30k launch. Doubled income every single year since 2022. This is repositioning — moving into a bracket where more becomes normal.
The shift becomes irreversible.
From “I couldn’t put my face on my first post” to magnetic and fully visible. From hiding behind low prices to paid speaking gigs in Italy and on a Caribbean cruise. Once this happens, they can’t go back. And they don’t want to.
These aren't the average. They're what's possible when the work is done properly and the woman is ready to back herself. Everyone's timeline looks different. But the direction? Always the same.
How Do You Know If You Need To Do This Work?
I can sniff it out at a mile off. I can see it in your copy, on your website, in what you post and how you post it. And if I can see it — trust me, the people you’re trying to sell to can see it too.
But here’s a question you can ask yourself right now.
What would your Big Deal self do in the next 3 months if she was fully committed to getting the result you want in your business?
Not the version of you negotiating with her self doubt. Not the version waiting until she feels ready. The version who already backs herself completely. What would she do? How quickly would she do it? What would she just… execute on?
Now look at what you’re actually doing.
That gap between her and you right now? That’s the identity gap. That’s what this work closes.
And the good news — she already exists. She’s not someone you need to become. She’s someone you need to remember.
Who Is This Work For?
There are two types of women who come to me.
The first already knows. She’s invested heavily in strategy and isn’t getting the results she should be for the effort she’s putting in. She knows there’s a gap. She just hasn’t had a name for it until now.
The second is the one I want more of. She’s at the beginning. She’s aware that her inner critic is going to try and stop her. She doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned. She’s not waiting until she’s wasted thousands on strategy that identity would have fixed in the first place.
One of my best clients is a clinical psychologist. She handed in her notice from her NHS job — and before she’d even started her business properly, she contacted me. Because she knew that to make the biggest success of her business, she had to do this work first. She hit six figures in 8 months. Is fully booked for 6 months. Just won an industry award. Because she never had to unlearn anything. She just built it right from the beginning.
I want to change the narrative around this work. It’s not something you do when you’ve exhausted every other option.
It’s the first move. The smartest move. The one that means you never have to waste money on things you don’t actually need.
Ready To Stop Buying The Thing And Start Owning The Thing?
The Audacity File is £47. One document. The starting point for everything.
Some of you are going to read this and feel a bit uncomfortable about the idea of sitting down and owning who you actually are.
Good.
That discomfort is exactly the reason you need to do it. Your brain has been keeping you safe by keeping you small. The Audacity File is where you start showing it a different story.
One woman emailed me after buying it: "This is such a gift. Your perspective is OUTSTANDING. Yum: I'm ready."
She hadn't even finished it yet.
This isn’t another thing to add to the pile. It’s the thing that makes everything else actually work.
